What is the WIRE?
The WIRE serves the University of Oklahoma and surrounding communities via the Internet and Cox Cable Television Channel 4 SAP. The WIRE is a unique music experience that combines the hottest new music with the convenient access of television and the fun of interactivity to create an exciting new medium of home entertainment.
The mission of the WIRE is to introduce the University of Oklahoma and the Norman Community to the latest in alternative, rock, hip-hop, and electronic music. We play a variety of styles and artists, and feature specialty programming of a diverse nature.
Although the largest portion of our staff, our DJs, participate only for experience and college credit, there are paid managerial positions available. Anyone interested in working for us in any manner should contact the WIRE office at 325-0121. Employment positions will be posted from time to time on our website.
I am involved with a business or campus organization. Can I be a sponsor of the WIRE?
The WIRE is always looking for individuals and businesses interested in underwriting our programming. We offer several different underwriting packages at reasonable and competitive rates. Anyone interested in working on an Underwriting contract with the WIRE should contact the WIRE business office at 325-0121.
I'm in a band. Can I send you my CD?
Sure, the WIRE is always looking for local, indie artists.
