Sooners Possibly Cracking Down on Twitter Use

OU Head Football Coach Bob Stoops discusses the new Twitter policy.

Whether or not student athletes use social media wisely has become a heated debate.

Twitter has been a social network that has allowed people to speak their mind. Some have used it well, others haven’t.OU football players have been among the group of people who fall under the latter category.

Players such as sophomore defensive back Tony Jefferson and sophomore wide receiver Kenny Still have been criticized in the past couple months for their Twitter usage, and head coach Bob Stoops may have had enough.

Although Stoops has not put in place Twitter restrictions yet, he admits he may have to do so in the near future.

"Obviously ones who don’t know what they’re doing will have to,” he said. “We’ll have a policy and take it away.”
